Interrelation of Our Surrounds

The National Planning Environmental Act (NEPA (1969) requires comprehensive land use planning of all Federal actions affecting the environment, including consideration of cultural resources. The act calls for development of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) to assess potential impacts to the environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

The Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission initiatives are defined in the "Tricentennial Plan." For a definition in shorthand, we conceptualize planning in the traid of vision, analysis and action -- these define planning, plans, those who plan, the why and how of planning.
